Laura Portillo
Laura is licensed to practice in California, New York, and Nevada. Laura earned her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in history. She also holds a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine. Laura is a Veteran, having served in the United States Army and Army Reserve. When she was Honorably Discharged, she held the rank of Captain.
Laura studied European Community Law while a resident in London, U.K. She has facilitated international business and real estate matters. Laura’s practice focuses on complex civil and corporate litigation in state and federal courts across the country. With the assistance of local counsel as necessary, Laura has achieved great results for clients in California, New York, Delaware, Nevada, and Texas, among others.
In addition to her complex practice, Laura has dedicated pro bono efforts in the local community. Laura excels at devising a strategy for tackling complex cases and working with a team to implement solutions for her clients. When she’s not at work, Laura enjoys going to concerts, hunting for sea glass, cheering on the UCLA Football team, and exploring Alaska.
Kevin Ronk
Kevin is licensed to practice in all of the State Courts, Federal District Courts, and Federal Bankruptcy Courts in California. Kevin holds a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law as well as an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. Kevin’s undergraduate degree is in economics. Kevin also holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology Law from the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law at Pepperdine. Kevin focuses his practice on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Before he became an attorney, Kevin worked as a business analyst.
Kevin’s extensive experience in economics and finance allow him to efficiently and comprehensively analyze business documents. He focuses on providing legal advice and representation to small companies. Kevin has achieved excellent recoveries for various small businesses.
In addition to representing companies in California courts, Kevin has experience providing business advice across the country in various industries, including retail, healthcare, and oil & gas. In the office, Kevin’s attention to detail allows him to find avenues to recovery that are not immediately obvious in order to maximize client return. When not practicing law, Kevin enjoys trail running and participating in Spartan races and other endurance events.
Michael Slivka, Of Counsel
Michael is licensed to practice in Colorado and Florida. He earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Michael has extensive experience in both business and bankruptcy cases. Michael has represented both debtors and creditors in Bankruptcy Court.
From filing a proof of claim to litigating complex debtor-insider issues, Michael, will vigorously advocate for payment to creditors at every step of a bankruptcy case. PRLT has experience in bankruptcy courts across the country and Michael will be part of PRLT achieving great results for their clients.
In addition to advocating for debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, Michael has provided key litigation support in state-court matters, including real estate, fraud and breach of contract cases. Michael has a talent for finding answers for even the most complex problems.
Jonathan Frimpong
Jonathan earned his law degree from University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2018; and he also received his B.A. in Economics, cum laude, in 2015 from USC.
Jonathan has experience in the acquisition and sale of corporate assets, as well as administration of real property transactions, including lease renewal and amendments, receivables, payables and maintenance. Jonathan’s background in Economics as well as his experience with complex transactional and litigation documents, make Jonathan a skilled member of PRLT who is ready to vigorously represent the interests of creditors as well as aid Debtors with their financial reporting.
Rochelle Magpantay
Rochelle earned a bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Trinity University of Asia. Rochelle’s passion is using technology to aid and empower her team. Rochelle works as a paralegal for PRLT and is skilled at keeping track of deadlines, budgets, schedules, and pleadings. Rochelle is not just a tech whiz who has mastered many software programs and apps, she also has exceptional interpersonal skills. She is a valued member of PRLT and complements and elevates our ability to serve clients.
